The CREST case management system for Crown courts, running on ageing computers and using an operating system which is no longer supported by the manufacturer, represents a “significant risk” for the Courts Service, warns a National Audit Office report on the Administration of the Crown Court. Court staff are having to re-enter data manually, which means up to 12 hours’ extra administrative work for a busy court per month.
