The Joint Academic Stage Board is a joint committee of the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. It is responsible for the setting and implementation of policies in respect of the Academic Stage of Training for qualification as a solicitor or barrister. In
particular, it is responsible for the validation and review of Qualifying Law Degrees and Common Professional Examination/Graduate Diploma in Law courses for the purpose of completion of the Academic Stage. The Board is currently recruiting barrister, solicitor,
academic and lay members of the Board, including a Chair.
